The story of the day, as I learnt from an Orkut Community, is that Hero Honda has launched the new Achiever, or rather I correct here it, has UPGRADED the Achiever.

So after a sticker-ing job to the Karizma, and a messy look finish to the CBZX what has Hero Honda got in store for us?

Well, according to a report in the Hindu Business Line,

The company has launched ‘Achiever’ in two variants — kick start and self start — and would be available in five colours, Hero Honda said in a statement.

The new Achiever would come with improved features including disc brakes, body colour graphics and body colour grips, it said.

The new Achiever is priced between Rs 52,650 and Rs 54,950 (Ex-Showroom Delhi).

And how would it look?
Well, haven’t got my hands on any new pics, but this a picture that I had got sometime back.

No show stopper and for me it looks to be a mere cosmetic upgrade, I didn’t expect much from Hero Honda as well. Hero Honda wants to sell 150s, like 100cc bikes, and seems to be concentrating on volumes, and not technology. I don’t see any technological upgrade being tried on this bike, since they did not give any, for two of their successful bikes.

The Achiever as well, was not at all seen as a bike, with a sporty image, it was more sort of a utility bike, with more power, cos of the 150cc engine. And I don’t expect many changes to its image after the launch too. I expect the bike, to be a heartthrob, to those who wanna buy a 150, and still bother about mileage. Forget about 150ccs, I’ve had commentators on my blog, who are bothered about mileage figures of higher capacity bikes like the P200 and ZMAs.
Well, as the story continues there’s no end to it, no matter how many times I have replied, the questions keep coming.
