The 200cc way to ‘Feel like God’: Bajaj Avenger 200cc DTSi launched!!

The much talked about 200cc version of Bajaj Avenger (rather call it an upgrade) is launched, by Bajaj Auto with a price tag of Rs. 64,830 (ex-showroom New Delhi). According to news reports the new bike shall be powered with a 200cc, oil cooled DTSi engine (the same as the on Pulsar 200cc DTSi), producing a power output of 17.5 PS at 8,000 rpm with max torque of 16.78 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

An excerpt from the Business Standard report,

The new Avenger’s 200cc oil-cooled engine is capable of generating a top-speed of 115 km/h. The engine delivers 17.5 PS at 8000 rpm with a torque of 16.78 Nm at 6000 rpm. The oil cooler helps the hi-performance engine to maintain the engine oil temperature even at high rpms, which in turn maintains the Engine oil viscosity.

S Sridhar, chief executive officer (2-wheelers), Bajaj Auto, said, “The new 200cc Avenger DTS-i surpasses by far the performance of the of the 180cc original. A typically low-slung cruiser, the Avenger 200 DTS-i compares to the finest in the world.”

The new feature in this bike is a windshield that’s generally seen on biggies like the Royal Enfeilds or Harley Davidson’s (They too are heading India soon), tank mounted fuel gauges. Don’t take it from me, read this excerpt from MoneyControl.com

The tank-set neatly houses the all-new sleek tank mounted fuel gauge along with the other indicators. The bike also comes with the international standards windshield option. The windshield adds to the aesthetic value of the new Avenger.

Pictures coming soon, stay tuned. Meanwhile here’s a wallpaper from Bajaj’s site for a sneek preview.
