Bajaj to launch 125 cc XCD DTS-i Sprint, Discover 150 cc DTS-I and 125 cc Blade later this year

Amidst new of the small car prototype Bajaj’s CEO Mr. S Sridhar has said in The Statesman, that the company shall be launching a 125 cc XCD DTS-i Sprint, Discover 150 cc DTS-I and 125 cc Blade later this year. According to him, the XCD Sprint is targeted at the youth and the Discover 150 acts as an upgrade from the current 135 segment. The 125cc Blade shall cater to the male customers and the comnapy shall also import higher capacity bikes from Kawasaki and KTM. Notice that XCD comes without Swirl Induction, and Discover gets a 150cc engine upgrade. That would make Bajaj feild two bikes in the 150cc segment, just like Hero Honda who with the Hunk have 3 bikes in the segment.

Read excerpt from The Statesman,

BAL would also launch three two-wheelers in 2008. “These will be 125 cc XCD DTS-i Sprint, which will be a sports bike and Discover 150 cc DTS-i in the motorcycles segment, while a 125 cc Blade will also be launched,” Mr S Sridhar, BAL’s CEO (two-wheeler), said.
He said the company would target the youth with XCD Sprint, while the Discover 150 cc would be a move to upgrade from the 135 cc segment, which is “getting crowded”.
“The Blade scooter will be aimed at the male riders,” he said, adding BAL would also be introducing high-end sport bikes from its partners Kawasaki and KTM this year.

So what would that mean, for the Pulsar 150? Well, I will let time tell the story and rather not add to rumors.
